Network Interdisciplinary Research on Human Values

Group of people

The Network Interdisciplinary Research on Human Values is a joint initiative created by the faculties of Catholic Theology, Philosophy and Education, Psychology, Law, and Social Sciences along with the Rectorate of the University of Vienna.

It promotes the structural basis of values research at the University of Vienna, supports interdisciplinary collaboration in this research field and expands the possibilities for interaction between students and scientists. The network supports the collaboration of the groups and faculties involved, in particular to promote the appropriate further development of the scientific discourse on values, including various scientific disciplines. In addition, the network is intended to contribute to objectifying the values debate in society and the public and to create a university structure for the planning and implementation of topic-specific, interdisciplinary third-party funded projects in the field of values and attitudes research.

With this objective, the network also wants to contribute to the social relevance of science and research at the University of Vienna (“Third Mission”). Several projects are currently being carried out as part of the research network.
