The Faculty of Social Sciences provides information and material on research ethics for researchers and doctoral candidates in the different disciplines and research fields. Please find the faculty-wide and the field-specific research ethics questionnaires as well as templates for participant information and informed consent below.
Furthermore you will find resources provided by the University of Vienna, a collection of guidelines for research by a number of (also field-specific) institutions, legal regulations and some other resources in the section further information and material. Finally we also collect academic contributions on research ethics in the repository of the current scholarly debate.
Resources provided by the Faculty of Social Sciences
- Research ethics questionnaire of the Faculty of Social Sciences: The faculty-wide research ethics questionnaire contains all questions of the online self-assessment, as designed for the Research Ethics Screening of the Faculty, incl. guidelines with explanations and examples. Please note that there is also a German supplement available.
- Department-specific questionnaire: Communication - containing all questions in the online self-assessment of the Research Ethics Screening tailored to the specifics of the Department of Communication and the doctoral programme social sciences with research field communication.
- Department specific questionnaire: Government - containing all questions in the online self-assessment of the Research Ethics Screening tailored to the specifics of the Department of Government and the doctoral programme social sciences with research field political science (supervised by researchers of the Department of Government).
- Department specific questionnaire: Social and Cultural Anthropology - containing all questions in the online self-assessment of the Research Ethics Screening tailored to the specifics of the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology and the doctoral programme social sciences with research field social and cultural anthropology.
